Qi Gong breathing reminds us to breathe in the relaxed manner of a baby. Babies breathe from their lower and upper abdomens and adults typically breathe shallowly in the upper part of their chests.
Lying down place your right thumb into your belly button and relax your hand, placing your palm onto your lower abdomen and resting your thumb on the belly button. Place your left palm onto your chest.
Breathe in: When you breathe in relax your lower belly. You should feel your lower abdomen move before your chest moves with each inhalation. Your right hand should rise before your left hand on your chest.
Breathe out: When you breathe out, pull in your lower abdomen.
Where & When?: Do this exercise 2 times per day. 1 time in the morning before you awake and 1 time at night before you go to sleep. Practice this exercise 10-15 minutes each time.
